A little nostalgia

A. and I kept calling out the wrong building names. For example, one of our favorite old greasy spoons when we first started dating was called 21st Delight, but it was in a location that never held a business very long. (Although now that I consider it, it’s possible the owners of 21D were up to something other than serving messes of hash browns and pie slices of varying, dubious freshness.) 21D went under and was followed by a slightly more respectable diner that served “American Toast.” Yeah, this was in 2004. I remember asking the waiter if it was any different than French toast.

Just seeing a flash of the storefront – or where it used to be – made me tear up. Shucks, Duluth. I miss you.
